Travelling without using the air.

Some like minded individuals and myself have taken up the o' so noble title of nomad. We live on the eastern side of North America and were curious as to any travel by boat (any sort) that would get us to Iceland, Ireland, or Europe in general from either the eastern side where we are located or from Canada. Any shared wisdom is very much appreciated.

I'm so glad no friends came with me. I wouldn't have gotten the opportunities, I did solo.

Nor would I have learned to listen to foreigners, instead of just hear.

Mind you, that was about 50 years ago.

No poster who asked about the merchant marine has ever checked back here.

It's cheaper to fly unless you are qualified crew. Any number greater than 2 people are unlikely to all get on one boat/ship even if qualified. Time for a reality check.
