Particularly since the forum is restricted to those over the age of 16 and they kicked out our little Indian friend for being a tad too young, surely that means that adult language should be allowed.

Has some BBC Mrs Grundy really ruled that the occasionally colourful flourishing of that centuries-old f deleted-word is not to sully the delicate ears, eyes, noses, and throats of we brave band of distinguished "Get Stuffers"?

Without it many a kitchen, commercial or domestic, would certainly grind to a halt.

A measured amount of salt is necessary both to things culinary and their associated discussion.

In my humble opinion.

Watch out-- they're going to change the name of the branch before long.

The kitchen is indeed the only room in which I curse, generally to insult myself, recalcitrant vegetables and/or kitchen tools on wildcat strikes.

To answer the topic :
Oh God ! Not too much bechamel please !
I really don't like it but also I've never tasted a good home made one...
I think some bechamel on the top of the Lasagna Dish is acceptable if properly grilled in the oven but not inside the dish.
How come tomato sauce would make you gag ? Too much Dexter watching ?

Hee hee - good point Weaver.

I have to cuss when I burn myself, drop things, cut myself, forget to do something, forget to add something, add too much of something or otherwise have kitchen issues. I make Gordon Ramsey quite proud.

Ah, Tunisa, I knew someone would finally ring in as anti-bechamel. I just didn't think it would take 126 posts for it to happen.

Yes,on the top it's properly browned. Inside, you don't see it, it's melted together with the meat sauce, giving it more moisture.
Minced beef only (main ingredient) would make it too dry.
btw -thank you again for the rabbit recipe. It worked perfect.

@ Fieldgate : Héhé I'm glad the recipe was good for you ! (French Pride Cookery gloating inside)
@ Kerouac : I didn't read the previous posts so maybe that's why I was'nt biased into liking Béchamel , nah don't mix it inside the dish, just make the meat tomato sauce rich with sliced onions browned in lots of olive oil if you're afraid of it being to dry. I don't like it much with the endives and ham recipe either, but it's traditional.

Thanks for all replies to my admittedly off-topic post about 'bad' words - Yersinia not replying is interesting.

My pleasure tony! I think Yersinia is just sitting back, shaking her head and saying "yeah, yeah, yeah".

I missed this before - hee hee. The beginning part of Dexter makes my stomach churn, I never watch it even though I like the show.
