10 days holiday - where to go?hi guys,
my partner and i are going to spend around 10 days on the philippines on our way back to europe from australia. we´re flying into manila, as the flights from perth to manila are the chaepest. since we only have 10 days and want to relax we´ve decided not to backpack around but just have a holiday. we´re looking for a quiet place accessible from manila, somewhere with a nice beach and good scuba diving opportunities where we can just escape and chill. any suggestions are welcome.
thanks a lot.

2" quiet place accessible from manila, somewhere with a nice beach and good scuba diving opportunities"
As loubbylou says, will depend a lot on the time of year. Not easy to find quiet, with a nice beach and good diving near Manila. Theres Puerto Galera, good diving, OK beaches but not very quiet. Other good options would be to fly to Cebu and go to Moalboal, fly to Tagbiliran and go to Alona Beach or fly to Dumaguete and go to Dauin or Apo Island..

3I wrote this article especially for people with only about 10 days to spend in the Philippines
Camiguin and Bohol are both dive spots.
Chilling is up top you!

4thanks a lot for your replies and suggestions. we´ll be on the philippines in early march. any more recommendations based on that?
i will definitely look into flights to some of the places you recommended. but as we are on a pretty tight budget we might have to find somewhere accessible by bus from manila. because we only have 10 days (and have been working hard here for the last year) we don´t want to "hassle" with organising much and just stay in one place.
looking forward to hear your suggestions!

5one more question - would it make any sense for us to just wing it - fly into manila without a plan, stay one night and just shop around travel agencies to find out about a place to got to and book a bus there and then? if manila is anything like other southeast asian cities i suppose that shouldn´t be a problem but i don´t know much about manila?

6if manila is anything like other southeast asian cities
No it's not like other SE Asian cities. There isn't the tourist infrastucture like, for example, Thailand. Nothing is done via travel agents. I think you are best booking a return flight to somewhere in the Visayas or Palawan. Personally, it's just as easy to fly somewhere as it is to go by bus and the beaches are way better in the Visayas or Palawan than the ones accessible by bus from Manila.
You could either fly into Puerto Princesa (Palawan) and head by minibus to El Nido and spend your whole time there. You could also fly into Tagbilaran on Bohol, spend your time there or into Cebu and head to Malapascua or Moalboal or Camotes.
