for your very limited time...... let me suggest u ittinery that might interest u....

from jakarta u can straightly to bandung for visiting kawah putih or tangkuban perahu (one or both of them)
afterward, u can visit yogjakarta for keraton, borobudur, prambanan.
then solo for the culture..
and after those; straightly to malang and visiting bromo. and on your way to bali, you can stay for one day in kalibaru and ijen.
then you can spend the rest of your vacation in bali.
finally, u return to jakarta from bali by air plane.

I really liked Maleng, couple of hours south of Surabaya. Relaxed, atmospheric town with lots of splendid temples. Hire a car from the nice folks at Sunrise Travel and they'll take you everywhere -- hot springs, tea plantation, temples, batik stores, etc. sunrisemalang@gmail.com. I got teen guides who were eager to practice their English. It was a lot of fun!

Climb Mt. Merapi near Yogykarta. You start climbing at 1 am. Take gloves, lava rocks get pretty rough, and a good pair of knees, especially for the descent. Go light, though a decent jacket is needed for the windy summit. The transition from jungle to chill peak make for a remarkable experience.

Agree with KentKingsbury. By the way, the name is Malang. I live there. Sunrise in Mount Bromo is a must. Gladly to show you around if you gonna visit it.
