Can my mainland Chinese girlfriend live with me in Taiwan? Can my mainland Chinese girlfriend live with me in Taiwan?
I come from one of those countries whose passport holders are granted a visa-free stay of up to 90 days.
What about my mainland Chinese girlfriend? Will she get a visa and for how long? Can she live with me at a hotel in Taiwan (we are not married)?
I think we can't rent an apartment on an ordinary tourist visa, is that right?

1Mainland Chinese are allowed to visit Taiwan. I know nothing about the visa requirements or restrictions.
Mainland Chinese who are married to . . . well let's not go there, but there are nearly zero restrictions on them.
You have not stated your country of origin, but generally westerners have no problem renting an apartment in Taiwan except that the prices are so high they are more likely to rent a room from someone else or somehow sharing an apartment. If there are country-specific restrictions, this American has never heard of them.

2I'm not 100% sure, but my wife tells me she can only ever stay in Taiwan for 7 days... she is from Mainland China. Apparently even to get that visa is hard and usually have to go join a tour group to get it. But we did hear she can most likely enter from outside of China... say going through Hong Kong.
But I think you would find it hard having her stay there for any length of time longer than that.

3Yes, I remember now that only recently mainland Chinese not part of groups (individuals) are allowed maximum 500 mainland Chinese per day in Taiwan.
