Loja, Ecuador: coffee shops and pianos?

Hey all,
I have just arrived at my first job as an English teacher in Loja, Ecuador. Upon my first day, I went on a fruitless search for something quite easy to find in New Orleans and all of North America, but not so everpresent in my experience of Latin America.
Does anyone know of a coffee shop or cafe in Loja where one can hang out comfortably for a good part of a day, read, meet new people or put yourself into a project? Any community centers designed with a similar purpose? I'm also searching for a piano which is available for public use, in a bar or club or really anywhere. Please let me know. These are two comforts which make me feel at home.
Thanks for your time,
Amanda.

If anybody can point you to a good cup of coffee, it'll be these guys:

I didn't spend enough time in Loja to seek out any cafes on my own. However, my experience in other cities anchoring coffee-growing regions is that the local coffee coop usually has their hand in some sort of cafe in town.

Good hunting.

You should check out vilcabamba too! It has a huge ex-pat community of artists and musicians so if you're feeling homesick at any point a short bus ride over there might cure you!
