Senegalese visa in Rabat or Nouakchott + safety in Casamance
Hi all,we want to go from Morocco overland down to Senegal in few weeks. Does anyone have some up-to-date experience applying for Senegalese visa in Morocco or Mauritania?
+ Do you know whether it is safe now to travel through Casamance region? We would like to go from Niokolo Koba all the way to Cap Skirring, using local public transport.
Any info would be appriciated. Thanks.

There have recently been a couple of incidents in Casamance, so the army there is on high alert. However, the chances of you running into some of these bandits is very low, because they normally make about one attack a month in some random area of Casamance that usually lasts less than an hour. Of course, you should only travel in the daytime.2
I was in the Casamance 2 weeks ago and everything was ok,I had no security problems. Cape Skirring is full with French package
tourists, so not really interesting for me, I left after one night, it was
raining anyway.
Good luck!

I was in Casamance in 2011 and 2012, all very safe. I am going there again in 2 weeks time and my friend in Ziguinchor wrote yesterday that security is fine, things are quiet and visitors keep coming in. Still, don't travel the roads at night would be my recommendation. Casamsnce is beautiful, go and see it, you wont regret it, it'll be the highlight of your trip.4
I dont know the way via Koba, I usually go from Gambia Brikama to Ziguinchor, about 2,5hr journey by sept place.
