288 pages. Cover price £13.99 - or Amazon £9.65 today. Measures 12.8 x 1.8 x 19.7 cm
(Previous edition, from Jan 2010 had 320 pages. Cover £13.99 12.8 x 1.9 x 19.7 cm )
From comparing the two, it looks as though this 10% reduction is mainly down to the use of finer print - so it may be a little less weight to carry, for the same amount of information?
Seems more of an update than a total rewrite but, while others are available, with nothing from 'Time Out' since their last one in late 2009, I'd now recommend it as the best general guide for this area!

1Has it really been updated?
The newest Sicily guide still has restaurants that haven't existed for 10 years or more ;-)

3No,I don't mean that. You are reading a lot more into it than I meant ;-)
Just...have you looked closely at the details to see if they have included new things and excluded the old ones?
Or have they just changed some of the pictures around, and the type of text...that's what you mention above.......

4I had indeed compared several local entries - finding both deletions and additions, a spelling correction or two and changes (mostly, but not entirely) in the times, prices etc to those from the previous edition..... hence the "more of an update than a total rewrite" comment!
OK? If so, perhaps you could cease your insinuations - and maybe do something useful, such as inform the author of the Sicily guide of those restaurant closures?

5The 'insinuations' are only in your mind.....
I was merely interested in whether the writer was really visiting the places,or not (as is the case in Sicily).
Unless you are the writer...there is no 'insinuation' at all.
Perhaps you should learn to read carefully before you comment on other people's posts?

7Boys boys boys...I hate to see two of the posters most worth reading get into a tussle over what appears to be a simple misunderstanding.
I appreciate the details that luca's question elicited. And I appreciate the fact that the details from BII offer a stark contrast to the examples that luca provided from the Sicily guidebook.
I strongly doubt I would have taken luca's question as a critique--given the drawbacks of the newest Sicily guidebook. So thanks to both of you. I hope you'll shake hands and play nice.

8I have no problems Craig....I can see nothing in either my first or second post which suggests that the OP is a 'liar'.
Perhaps there is a suggestion that the writer of the book (or the Sicily guide at least...don't know if they are the same person)has not been doing his job properly...no more,no less.
