Women allowed wearing trousers in Paris

Good news, it´s officially allowed for women from now on to wear trousers in Paris: http://www.france24.com/en/20130204-paris-women-trousers-law-revolution-equality-france

So it will give a boost to winter tourism?!

They could have fined all the women in trousers for 200 years -- imagine how that would have reduced the budget deficit!

#bjd, great idea, tell Hollande;-)
Reminds me to a politician in 'Hollande' who wanted to tax women wearing headscarves recently.

I also wonder which archaic laws are still going strong in various countries...
In the UK for sure;-)

There are loads of US state laws that seem crazy.....some of them are on that link above.

One of my favourites is that it is illegal to wear a fake moustache in church (in Alabama)...but only if it makes people laugh.

#4: great tempelton, women may not wear pants in Tucson, Arizona and it's not allowed to stay in one house with more than 6 girls. (> 6 guns is probably allowed but I'll check)

#5: so that's the only place where the French are not outlawed in the UK?! Asylum for Depardieu there?

I cannot find all the examples "dumb". The two dutch laws mentioned make sense to me. Also a danish law forbidding a person to start a car. when someone is underneath it, makes sense to me.

Sorry, but my virus scanner picked up nothing, I just ran a scan it it says everything is fine??

I think the the law against running out of fuel on the Autobahn in Germany is not stupid also,
it's terrible if you break down on the Autobahn and having to wait for help, but putting yourself and somebody who has to help you in life threatening danger just because you didn't fill up is stupid.

#11 And this law might be extended to aircraft Autobahnen, needing to make an emergency landing due to lack of fuel
Though old story and of course Michael is denying.

This is exactly what happens when the Sans Culottes return to power after 17 years in the wilderness...a new case of 'Trouserism in One Country'?...
