Scuba?

Hello,
I was wondering exactly what diving is like. I'm assuming there will be places to rent the oxygen, regulator, etc? Do we need proof of certification to dive or is more laizze faire?
Thanks!

what's it like will be relative to your experience, and since asking if need to be certified, i'm guessing yourself of partner, have very little, if any. so you will enjoy it, hopefully surviving.

i personally wouldn't use a dive operation that wouldn't require certification. good luck, and do have travel insurance.

Hi!
I am certified, but my partner isn't. However, he went diving in the Philippines - they didn't ask for a certification. So I was just trying to get a feel for what type of regulation was in place. I didn't really mean what's in like in comparison to my experience - I just meant how easy will it be to find rental stores, etc.
thanks.

rentals aren't a problem, and some nice equipment at some shops. i did phuket and pp. just ok. gulf vis is way below what i would dive in. have a friend, bit more experience than myself, and can dive similians for free, he has, and said it wasn't worth the bother. mantas, but that's about it.

phuket dive shop didn't ask, but pp dive shop did, both before tsunami, both beach front so not sure if either still there.

phuket.....king cruser, anemane reef, shark pt..all day affairs. pp, closer and a few to pick from, back in couple hours.
