South Florida itinerary
I'm putting together an itinerary for Florida with rental car. As we'll only be there 8 days I think I better limit my trip to the South (also, I'm not really into attraction parks, so Orlando isn't on my list anyway). Key words: beach, clubbing, sports, design, fashion, art, lounge, ...Thanks for your feedback on the below itinerary. Anything I should add or drop? Recommendation for hotel in Everglades? Thank you!
Saturday 23 March - Miami
Sunday 24 March - Miami
Monday 25 March - Miami - Fort Lauderdale - West Palm Beach
Tuesday 26 March - West Palm Beach - Everglades
Wednesday 27 March - Everglades - Grassy Key - Key West
Thursday 28 March - Key West
Friday 29 March - Key West - Key Largo - Miami
Saturday 30 March - Miami
Sunday 31 March - Miami (early morning departure)

Monday 25 March - Miami - Fort Lauderdale - West Palm Beach
Tuesday 26 March - West Palm Beach - Everglades
West Palm Beach is a lot like Miami, though more sedate, so worth a miss.Tuesday 26 March - West Palm Beach - Everglades
It's also only an hour or so from Miami, so there is no need to spend a night there even if you do go.
Recommendation for hotel in Everglades?
There is no lodging in the park, except for campgrounds. The Everglades are very close to Miami, so you could easily make it a day trip. If you want to do it on the way, stay in Homestead or Key Largo.

To me, that sounds like 8 days in and around Miami.
From Miami, Everglades National Park is a day-trip. If you want two days there, stay in Homestead for a night.
The Keys are a leisurly overnight trip at least. If you cannot do everything in a "liesurely" way in the Keys, you probably don't belong there and won't like them. The Keys between Florida City and Key West are for boating, fishing, diving, and doing nothing. The 24/7 party is in Key West. The drive over the Overseas Highway is worth the trip.
The other locations you mention will seem like an extension of Miami Beach unless there is something specific you want to visit. Otherwise, all they will mean is more time in the car.
Have a great time.

I agree with the other comments: West Palm Beach is not much of a change from Miami. Better spend more time in the Keys.A visit to Flamingo and a boat ride (canoe rentals also available) is good in the Everglades. Definitely make time to visit the South Beach and Coconut Grove in Miami. Key Largo is great for diving/snorkeling trips. Make sure to stop at the state park on Bahia Honda Key. Marathon Key is the main center for deep-sea fishing. Key West can keep you entertained for as long as you please.

First, you need to know that Miami and West Palm Beach are on the mainland. Miani Beach and Palm Beach are the reort areas. Miami Beach is art-deco, clubs and a young international crowd. Palm Beach is old money, more sophisticated and slower paced. If you are interested in archtecture, both are worth a visit. Art-deco in Miami and Misner's Spanish-Nuevo in Palm Beach. Ft. Lauderdale
justifyably claims to be the yachting capitol of the U.S. (or maybe the world) You might find it interesting to drive route A1A along the barrier islands from Miami to Palm Beach.
While in Miami, be sure to visit Calle Ocho (Little Havana) for dinner, at least one night. The Versaille
is very popular with the locals or Casa Juancho for the up-scale crowd.
Everglades Nat'l Park is SW of Miami and can be accessed from the Homestead/Florida City area.
Plenty of hotels or a hostel to spend the night and several good Mexican restaurants.Be sure to stop at the park visitor center. They can tell you where the birds and alligators are concentrated and easy to see.
The Keys extend south of Homstead. Plenty of beaches, diving, fishing, clubs and bars. Consider spending the night in Key West to watch the sun set. Maybe take a boat out to Ft. Jefferson as a day trip.
Lots of stuff to see and do in S. FL. More than you can possibly see in the time available.
