Beijing - Tibet - Vietnam

I'm travelling to Tibet overland from Beijing possibly via Lhasa.

After a week my friend will be going back to Beijing and I'll have a few weeks of time. I'd like to go see Myanmar, Laos and end up in Thailand.

Does anyone have any recommended routes from Tibet ending up in Thailand?

First question is when - Tibet is usually closed to foreign passport holders in March, and the closure (as in permits are not issued) can start earlier in February.

From Lhasa (if you get there) to SE Asia, I'd say first fly to Kunming. From there you can go overland to Laos and into Thailand. For Myanmar, you need to fly - either from Bangkok or Kunming would make sense.

Very easy to do....after your Tibet tour is finished, go from Lhasa to either Kunming, Chengdu, Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai or Guangzhou and fly to Bangkok.
