Morjim, Goa

I'm thinking of a brief visit to Morjim with my 8 year old daughter in March. We visited Morjim (stayed at the wonderful Ku) a few years ago but have, recently, heard negative things about the area (Russian mafia stuff). Is that a concern? I was thinking of staying at the Village Susegat this time (closer to the beach). Other recommendations for a quiet, non-resort, "close to the beach" place in North Goa would be great!

It's not really a concern, at least it won't be for you, it is true that the new wave of Russian package tourists are loud and a bit on the anti social side but it's only a problem if your a local Goan, just go and enjoy yourselves and don't worry about it.

It's far to long winded to go into why and how Goa has trouble with foreign tourists, but I'll give you the abridged version which is 'greed' plain and simple greed.
