Honeymoon destination in India

Hi,

At the end of May or in the First week of June I m planning to go for Honeymoon for 4-5 days in India. I do not want to travel too much. Please advice the Cities to visit & Hotels where as the Honeymoon will be memorable.

Do not want to travel much as it should not be the hectic journey.

Am a little surprised that a national asks this question - if you were flying from Europe, I would suggest Kochin and check LP for suitable hotels.

Hi,

There is nothing to get surprised as I was looking for the options. Some of peoples are having good / bad experiences while on the tour that's why I asked the question.

Then let me be surprised. You answered another post with a proper suggestion for your time period. Use that, or for a shorter distance, go to Haridwar/Rishikesh.

Where are you traveling from?? 4-5 days seems a bit short. What are your interests etc?

Oh, I think he said honeymoon in the title, even.

Of course I've had a haircut. September, I think. About 1 inch. Might even again in June. ;) God bless the Norwegians ;)

Dear Amit,

If I were planning a honeymoon in India my first stop would be the Samode Palace Hotel (north of Jaipur) - beautiful place, if you have the budget.
India's pretty hot in June though! That time of year I'd head for the hills.

Honeymoons, the where is a fair question given a very short period. As a general principle spend your money like it doesn't count so that good memories are developed.

For a honeymoon hotel I can recommend Neemrana Fort-Palace between Delhi and Jaipur.

June? That puts most of the country out of question. The hills are your best bet, but most of them will be washed out thanks to the monsoons.

Kashmir sounds apt. Srinagar is a good base for a 4-5 day stay and has had seen great stability and new hotel openings. Plus its easy to fly in and out of, and is a good base for nearby daytrips, should you get bored.

Ladakh also qualifies, but 4-5 days is short. Leave it for a longer trip.

Darjeeling might be a good option in June.
