Traveling with 11, 3 are kids under 12 years old

We are planning a trip to Italy in June and need advice. We will be renting a villa for 7 days. We are just not sure of location. Recommended to rent in Lucca, Chianti, or Cortona(better priced). Our plan was to fly into Rome( only non stop flights from Philly)rent two cars and drive to the villa, tour Florence, vinyards, cooking class (maybe), Pisa, or Cinque Terre. After 7 days drive back to Rome and stay there for 4 days and tour.

Need suggestions on the best location for the Villa?
And when in Rome, best area to stay?

Would love help :)

Thanks!

If you want to be near to those places, then your best base would be Lucca.

A great small city too.though I guess your villa will be in the countryside....

As for Rome...if you have the budget (sounds like you do)..then why not stay right in the centre?
