Where shall I stay in Bangkok?

Hellooo,
I am staying in Bangkok in April for 3 nights. I will be with my sister and my dear Mum will be coming to visit us on our travels. I'm looking for a good place to stay that's budget - mid range. Preferably clean rooms with air-con that can accommodate 3 people. I'd like to be close to khao san road as I love it, but I remember in the past being kept awake till the early hours with noise and music, so somewhere a bit further away that is not so noisy. Found somewhere nice but all the reviews said 'Really rude staff'! So preferably, somewhere where the staff are relatively friendly!

Thanks

Elle

Asia hotel is mid-range and directly on the skytrain so good for sightseeing.
My advice is to choose a place that has fixed beds, i.e a room with 2 double beds in it or 1double plus 1 single. Many places will accomodate 3 people in one room but will give you a fold-up / temporary bed for the third person and these are rubbish. Extremely soft mattresses that will give you a bad back even if you didn't have one before.

I recommend staying on Soi Ram Buttri. It's across the street and a little bit up from Khao San, but only by about a block. I like staying there because it still keeps me in the Khao San area (I agree with you, I enjoy that area a lot) but is away from the madness.

I'm not sure if they're online, but I liked the BB House. It's clean and quite comfortable. The rooms are pretty small, but nice. If I recall correctly we paid 600 baht per night for a double.

I'm a fan of the New Siam hotels, they have four in the Soi Rambutri area. New Siam Riverside is the swankiest, right on the river, and clean rooms. They have a pool too. Google them.

Budget-midrange is vague. Name a price range. Give you'll spend about 2 mins dealing with staff I wouldn't worry about kindness. Staff get paid low and often get sick of whinging foreigners who stay in cheap rooms then whinge about everything like they expected 5 stars.

for NightLife Bangkok comes to life at night, is one of its specialties. The options span a wide range of tastes, styles and budgets. Dance parties, rooftop bars, chilled out lounge with live music, cultural shows, street shopping and an electrifying gay scene all sum up the gist of what’s available
