Estancia visit - pampas

I'll be in Argentina beginning of April for a week based in Buenos Aires and would love to experience the gauchos life style for couple of days.

Anyone have any recommendations on estancias within driving distance from the capital?
I'm looking for as close is possible to the real deal.

Many thanks in advance

p.s. I tried to search for previous info on this forum, without success.

Gauchos wear jeans and use smarphones nowadays. The estancias you can find are touristy and run by people who live in Buenos Aires city.

If you like to ride, or would like to give it a try, Estancia Los Dos Hermanos is a more genuine estancia than the ones where you sit around just looking at a show. They have a website.

I can't edit, so will just add that spending the night at any estancia is pricey.

Anyway, I send you an old post:

21-October-2007 post:

Which Estancia?

Estancia Los Dos Hermanos (The Two Brothers) is the non-cheesiest estancia around. Spend a day in the country riding horses and eating bbq steak without the cheesy song and dance and gaucho shows (which are kind of fun if this is what you are looking for)...but Los Dos Hermanos is qualitatively different...great, well cared for horses....and rides tailored to your ability....at the touristy estancias you get a 10 minute ride on a broken down horse....at Dos Hermanos spend up to seven hours riding in the country side....the owners....the Peñas ...are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet in Argentina.

Thanks.

I'm thinking to spend the night and also visit a local village/town. I heard that San Antonio de Areco is the place to visit, but it seams like all the estancias nearby are very 'touristic'?

Any thoughts on that?

Many thanks
