ATM's in St. Petersburg

I will be coming into St. Petersburg by ferry from Helsinki. Are there ATM's at pier, or is it better to do exchange in Helsinki? How are the ATM's? Also any ideas on clubs where I can hear local bands? Thanks

Both VISA and MasterCard, which cover most of the ATMs around the world, have locators on their websites. Check there or with the ferry operator. Some ferrylines have ATMs on the ferries.

Are you traveling on one of the three day cruise ferries? Will you have a visa for Russia? If not, check with the cruise company, but I think you might not be allowed off the boat for indpendent travel without a visa. If I understand correctly, the visa free time is only if you take the official excursions. Get that straight before planning to go to clubs and travel independently.

Yes you'll have no problem finding cash machines, in a place like St Petersburg they will have an English language option. It generally depends on who you bank with as to whether you'll have any problem using them, so I'd contact your bank before you go.
There are certain conditions you must fulfil if you are planning to use the visa free option when arriving by ferry, hopefully you are already aware of this but some info on the St Peter Line website is a little misleading.

Great to hear that you taking this opportunity to travel to Russia visa-free. Ferry from Helsinki is the cheapest way to travel to Russia. Just remember that you are allowed to stay in Russia not longer than 72 hrs and HAVE to exit it by ferry as well. Read more here - Visa free Russia

ATM machines are all over ST Petersburg. There are few of them in the sea terminal that your ferry will arrive to. Just grab $100 worth of rubles - this should be more than plenty for your pocket money for a couple of days.

As for the clubs / pubs - go to Lomonosov street, it's full of packed and not so drinking establishments. As for me - I prefer going to Money Honey rockabilly club for live music, young crowd and cheap beer.))) It's right off that street as well

If you have any questions - let me know, I'll be happy to help!
