4" 500 dollars of some sort. Guess it's US or similar. So about 15,000 baht a month which can be done near a beach. Why he doesn't use google I don't know. "
Well, for one, google is never the best option for local accommadations. Believe it or not, many great local spots still do not have a web presense. Some of the best accommodations I find when I travel, had to be found simply by walking around the city.
Tired of people that always use the "learn google" response. Maybe OP wants some accurate advice from someone who has actually been on ground in Thailand? Just sayin.

5That's my experience in particular in places like SE Asia as well. In fact, I've found that in Thailand it's generally the more expensive places that are online. The cheaper options tend to not spend money on things like a website, or may not know to register online.
The question of currency is still open though. Unless we know he's from the U.S. somehow, I'm not sure how we can know what money he's using.

6Sorry, I'm in Italy and the wines just too good here! Yes I meant 500 USD, and from previous experience google just doesn't work to find a cheap place the best way is always just to go there yourself and figure it out. I was just curious if this is possible or not
