Le Grand Bornand/ St Jean de SixtHello,
This is an appeal to anyone who knows the area of Le Grand Bornand/ St Jean de Sixt. In May/June I'm hoping to spend 4 weeks there on a study break. I'm hoping to visit La Villaret quite a lot, but otherwise spend my time reading and writing about La Villaret's most famous son (Pierre Favre).
So, I need somewhere to stay - one person, travelling alone, wanting quiet, self catering. The additional issue is that I won't have a car, and I have a disability, so although some walking is ok, long distances aren't. So it would be good to be near somewhere to shop and a bus station.
Does anyone know if I'd be better in Le Grand Bornand or Sixt? Any tips? I've been researching online, but it's difficult when you don't know the area.
A million thank yous for any help!

1As you might expect form a vacation/ski village, Le Grand Bornand is full of self-catering rentals and almost surely has a shuttle bus to serve the nearby hamlets which are filled with holiday rentals. I am sure there are rentals right in Le Villaret. Le Grand Bornand is a bigger place than St Jean de Sixt, with more services. It is one of the rare 'true' villages in the French Alps, where there is not much flat space to even build a village. Contact the local tourism office. We rented a gite there for a week, but this was years ago. They will l have rental and transport info.
