It's been many, many years since I did this trip and, of course, much has changed. I simply bought my ticket at the wharf where the ship departed (don't remember how I found the place but probably just asked around). I enjoyed seeing this section of the Yangtze, which is quite wide, and the trip couldn't have been smoother. If memory serves, it took 6 plus hours. I was in Jiujiang last October and observed that the river has a lot of traffic that will perhaps add to the experience.ADVERTISEMENT
