Jiujiang To Wuhan By Boat

Anyone know the logistics of taking a boat from Jiujiang in North Jiangxi, upstream along the Yangtze River to Wuhan? I've read that boats are available, and that they take about 4 hours, but the details are a bit sketchy.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

It's been many, many years since I did this trip and, of course, much has changed. I simply bought my ticket at the wharf where the ship departed (don't remember how I found the place but probably just asked around). I enjoyed seeing this section of the Yangtze, which is quite wide, and the trip couldn't have been smoother. If memory serves, it took 6 plus hours. I was in Jiujiang last October and observed that the river has a lot of traffic that will perhaps add to the experience.

I go down the Yangtze about every other year or so. The only boats I have seen for what you are looking for are the old Hydro-foil boats. It's like riding in a bus and not very scenic. It is just to get from one place to another quickly.
