Iranian Visa - Elections

Hi,

I would really like to visit Iran in June but the presidential elections seem to be happening on the 14th of June. Would it be harder to get a visa at any time in June because of this. I would guess after the election it would be fine?

Hi,
Given the 3-month validity of the visas, you can secure the visa now, before it may get harder to get a visa.

Hamidrt,

Thanks for your helpful tip but I'm a UK national who recently cancelled my plans to visit Iran for Nowruz and rescheduled for September/October 2013. Does this advice apply to me too? Surely I can't apply for my visa number now, for travel in October 2013?
We're all in turmoil lately about how to apply for visa/when to apply/etc. More detailed advice would be welcome. As you know, if I apply for a visa as UK national, I have to get my visa stamped into my passport in another country - Ireland, Netherlands, France, etc. This will cost me a lot as I'd have to travel to that country and possibly wait for several days for the visa stamp, because without my passport I can't fly back to UK.

I wish that someone from the Islamic Republic of Iran could clarify the situation for UK nationals. I keep reading different opinions on what best to do.
