Mongolian visa in Russia
Does anyone have experience getting a Mongolian visa in Russia? We will be in St Petersburg, Moscow and Irkutsk but not a lot of time in any one place so I'm worried we may not have enough time. Is there an option to pay an express fee to get it the next day? It's for an Italian passport holder.I realise this info is probably already here somewhere but the search function doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

How many days will you be in Irkutsk? I've met people there who have gotten visas and had paid an express fee, can't remember how long it took exactly though. Probably best getting in contact with the consular office there via e-mail.2
There is a consulate in Moscow and one in Irkutsk but if I recall correctly it is not open daily and there is an extra fee for express service. Even same day service, if available, takes all day and you must apply early in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. More common is drop off and pick up the next afternoon.Honestly though, do you really want to spend more money for express processing and your limited holiday time chasing around to obtain a visa? I wouldn't. Better to apply by mail in advance. Send your passport and application to a consulate in another country if there is no consulate in Italy.
You can find lists of consulate locations on the websites of several Mongolian based travel agencies - Selena travel, Legend Tours, etc.
