From India to Pakistan - Kashmir

Hi there,

Relationship between these 2 countries is kind of strained recently. But I won't need to cross the border till July.
Could anyone tell me, under common circumstances, is it possible for a foreigner to cross the Line of Control in Kashmir district through Uri point?

BTW, I posted a thread looking for fellow travelers to cycle through KKH from Paki to Xinjiang, China (should be about 2 weeks' time around mid-Aug) before it was lost during the Xmas breakdown.

Anyone, if a little interested, please contact me for further info=]

Check out KKH here:

Thanks,

Wayne

Not a chance of a snowball in Hades! The only people permitted to cross are locals with relatives. As far as improved relations are concerned between the the countries its 2 steps forward and 2 back all the time. You did note the recent small scale fighting between the armies, no.?

The best view is from Pakistan side. But, that side is gender segregated. Both sides should be animated..
