Kenya Visa at the airport without a return ticket?!
Hello,I am planning to fly with a one-way ticket to Mombasa and travel overland down to South Africa. I know Kenya Visas are in general easy to obtain. I've got once one at a land-border without any problems. But I just read on the Kenyan Embassy Website that officially they ask for an outbound ticket for entry, at least at the airports! How does this work in praxis?
Any experience in this case? What if I obtain a visa at home, could they cause problems?
Thanks Olivier

Hi Oliver, the form you complete asks how long you plan to stay in Kenya and the Immigration officer usually asks the same question but they do not ask for return tickets or any other physical proof

My brother flew in 2 years ago on a one way ticket and they never asked him.Instead, his serious issue was he connected in Heathrow and there Kenya Airlines wouldn't let him on the plane at first because he had no onward ticket. He literally went around to several agents until he found one who didn't look in detail at the overland itinerary we were going on which was going up into Uganda (ie at the end we terminated in Nairobi and were going to plan our next moves from there). So the issue may lie with your airline!

Thanks for information.Yes according to my research, the airline (check in) seems to be a bigger issue than immigration in Mombasa. Anyone of you flew already with Condor one way ticket from Frankfurt to Mombasa? Maybe a Kenyan Visa upfront which is easy to obtain in Germany could reduce the danger not getting on board?
