Key West - camping, cheap tours
We're a group of med students hoping to do Key West on a low budget. Can anyone recommend any good tent-friendly camping sites with bathrooms, preferably by the water? Trees available for hammocks would be great. Also looking for cheap no-frills eco-tours such as kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and wildlife viewing. Would appreciate any suggestions!

Welcome to Thorn Tree.A. "Cheap" and "Key West" should never appear in the same paragraph.
B. How big is a "group." Yes, it may matter.
C. If you want something like a KOA Campground, The one closest to Key West is on Sugarloaf Key (You'll need a car.
D. There are a few "RV Parks" closer to Key West. I don't know it tent campers are welcome at the RV parks. The rates for campsites at these RV parks compare to cheap motels back in the real world.
E. You can also camp in Bahia Honda State Park on Bahia Honda Key and in Pennekamp State Park on Key Largo. You will still need a car.
F. Have you investicated Biscayne Bay National Park?
G. You can camp the way Robinson Crusoe did in Dry Tortugas National Park . You'll need to charter a "tour" to get there.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. This is not necessarily "cheap," but have you looked into houseboat rentals?
