Please help us with our itinery :)

Hi!
My friend and I are going to Thailand for 4 weeks in July.
(Providing we book these flights) We will arive at 6AM in Bangkok on 9th July.
Then we will fly back home from Bangkok at 1AM on the 6th July.
We need to be at Koh Pha Ngan on the 24th of July for the full moon party.
We would like to go to Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Koh Toa, Koh Phi Phi and Krabi.
How long should we spend in each area??
Thanks :)

I think you mean June.

First off, good trip, not too many stops, and a good time frame. Also, consider dropping Krabi, its a long way to go from the gulf side, and back maybe, and it'll be shitty weather-wise anyway.

Have a few days in BKK to acclimatise, prebook your accom, then you can go straight there after your flight.

4-5 days would be sufficient for up at Chiang Mai, which leaves 3 weeks on the islands. If that is too long, spend some more time around the north, there plenty of tourist stuff up there.

Good luck.

Since you didn't talk about budget, i'm going to include a few flights!

When you get off the plane, head straight to Hualampong train station and buy your train tickets for the last train the next night to Chang mai. 2nd class AC. Spend the 1st days in Bangkok and do as much as you can. Grand palace, chao praya river tour, a bit of Khoa san, SLEEP, and if you must, a combo ticket to see the BKK sites ( i hate this but some love it. YOU Could also fly up to chang mai given some really cheap air fares with Air asia but the train is part of the experience.

5-7 days around chang mai. This gives you a chance to rent a scooter, see some stuff, take a river jungle cruise on a bamboo raft, ride an elephant, buy some crap, and included is Pai for a day or 3 in this time frame.

Fly from chang Mai to Phuket. This is the budget killer, but a HUGE time saver. Take the earliest possible flight you can for 100 dollars well spent.

Arrive in phuket and get out...Head airport to the ferry terminal and take the ferry to PHi PHi. 5 days. Could be rainy at this time of year but always beautiful. Have the option of doing a dive course here but koh tao will be much CHEAPER. If you don't like Phi Phi , you could always get on the ferry and head to Lanta for a day or 3, even splitting up the time period here.

Take ferry/combo ticket to Krabi. 4 days, including a visit to Raily.

SKIP Koh Samui...its crap....

Buy combo ticket to Koh Tao. Take dive course there. Since there are just tons and tons of boats from koh tao to FMP, don't worry about KPG. Water is totally flat at that time of year so no worries on speed boats. The only problem is you may want to head over to KPG early which is doable, given that prices on koh tao skyrocket once you've finished a course.

Spend your last days on KPG and make sure you book early a train heading north to BKK for the flight out and remember that your flight is leaving at 1 am on the 6th, so you have to be there on the 5th!!!!!!

YOU could fly from koh samui to bkk, which is a great way to do it as well, but don't know your budget.

Given the choice of flights between Chang mai to Phuket and Samui to BKK, the Chang Mai flight is a huge time saver.

Oh yeah, if you feel like you missed some stuff in BKK, you could go back a day early and finish it all up ....

PS.. you're going to miss the FMP if you can't tell the difference between June and July...

But now that I checked flights in June , DEFINETLY fly from Chang Mai to PHuket.. There's flights at this time for 60 bucks and that is a fantastik price

I think i'd still do the train, but can't beat the 1100 baht fares on air asia don muang bkk to changmai...of course this is without luggage...Mini bus to the airport is about 3 bucks so it's something to think about.... And flights to phuket are 80 bucks so that's not that bad....this flight is the huge time saver...!!

How do you plan to travel back in time, arriving 9th and leaving on 6th July?
