ah sorry, i've been out of Kampala for christmas and just checked in here after a month off, i didnt think to looki wrote to LP about it and attach the answer they gave me
'Thanks for your email.
Your post count reflects posts that are live on the Thorn Tree forums now. As older content returns to Thorn Tree then I imagine your post count will increase.
Personally I go by the quality of someones recent posts if I were checking up on their advice. I can think of a few forums I've been on where some of the posters with tens of thousands of posts aren't always that knowledgeable.'
It doesn't seem to make sense, the post count is just a number, no one is really going to go back and look at all your posts. If this is the case then 'posts' should be changed to 'live posts', i dont at all see why it has been changed, one shouldn't reflect the other, if your posts have been archived then fine, but still respect the hours that some of us put in to help other travelers out.
I had no where near as many posts as Mike for example, but i was pretty proud of my 600 or something posts and despite what my response from LP said, i think its the leas they should show for their longer serving members who have put a lot into the website.

It happened once before a number of years ago; even the "Member Since" date is incorrect for those who joined before April 2000. There have been numerous versions of the Thorn Tree as well dating back to like 1995/1996. Change happens, I don't get bothered over it. They even used to close the Thorn Tree down entirely for the Christmas break, leaving only a branch called Stacks of Festive Fun (?).ADVERTISEMENT
