Somewhere between $350 and $1500 according to the First National website. Google can help.

What sort of jobs are you referring too? Yes the unskilled positions are probably being short-changed but the highly skilled engineering positions get the higher wages. As for rent - I would have thought the major criteria would be availability. Even in the wet season (not) there is not a lot of vacant rental accommodation in Broome.

Hi Bazza,

If you are interested in houseshare in Broome, you'll be able to rent a furnished room for about $200 per week. The houseshares are advertised on the internet (Gumtree and sometimes on the Facebook page called Broome buy, sell, swap) and also on noticeboards around town. The caravan parks also rent out affordable dongers I believe and you'll be able to find a unt for about $400 a week (though most agents will want you to sign up to a 12 month lease). A three bedroom house with a yard starts at about $650 minimum. Because of the high rent prices most employers offer rental assistance and Ithink they all have to provide the north west allowance. If your future employer isn't offering any of this, you'd want to be asking for a higher salary that reflects the high cost of living up here (fuel and food are also pricier than down south).

Best of luck with the move!

It often amuses me how many woman out there are waiting for superman for the man that saves the day that puts the fire out or catches the bad guy the sort of guy that can build a house or fix a tap change a tire and mow the lawns with his hands tied behind his back theres such this big hype to find the dream guy that the normal guy dosent compare that this guy who may not have much to offer other then his himself. That may not be good at much things but a master of one dosent get looked at and is just another human of irrelevant existence well i say to the girls that are waiting for superman to show up give a normal guy a shot you never know you may find he may just be enough of a superhero to save your day..
