Lombok suggestionsI am thinking of spending a week on Lombok in May all I am looking for is a quiet relaxed time looking out to sea reading some books and taking the occasional dip. I am not looking to stay anywhere grand just clean, comfortable, on the beach with a choice of local places to eat. I do need to be able to get a wifi connection each day as I will need to download a small amount of documents each day to proof read and return.
I would be grateful for any suggestions about where I should be looking and even more grateful for any guest house/hotel/resort suggestions

1Kuta Indah in Kuta has a nice pool and decent WIFI. Rooms are Rp350,000 with WIFI, hot water and cable TV. Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms if you do stay there. You can see the ocean from the hotel but its a 5minute bike ride from the main strip. Several restaurants within 5minutes walk including Riviera, Dwikis and The Coffee House.

This property is just north of Sengiggi and has wifi, it is quiet, is on a nice swimming beach, and a couple of the bungalows have sea views. Staff are always lovely and you can join in the communal meals, if you so desire. They prepare lunch and dinner, all organic and vegetarian. Breakfast is included in the room rate. The kitchen is always open to wander in and out and chat to the staff, and hand washing is easily done and hung up on the rooftop.
Santai is continuously recommended on TT for good reason and has many guests who return year after year.

3Apart from Kuta, Senggigi and the Gilis there are some very peaceful places. In Bumbangku you would find total peace and relaxation. www.bumbangkulombok.com
Selong Belanak is another place. The only accomodation is "Sempiak Villas". Beautiful bech and one of the best restaurants "Laut Biru Café" on Lombok, atleast it used to be. Has recently changed management and I haven't heard how it has turned out with new management. www.sempiakvillas.com
Close to Sekotong on the southwest side there is an island named Gili Asahan. Would also suit your criterias. As far as I know there is only one place to stay at. www.PearlBeach-Resort.com
Haven't been to Bumbangku yet myself but that's on my agenda for my next visit to Lombok.

4I agree with Jennifer - Santaii Inn is a must!! Brilliant place. I would also highly recommend getting a car or motorbike and exploring the beaches east of Kuta in the south, and possibly throwing in a trip to the Gilis if you have time.
