Tickets for Huayna Picchu for kids

We will be going to Macchu Picchu in late March with our 2 kids, ages 8 and 12. They are eager to climb Huayna Picchu. Some say it isn't an easy climb, some say it's not difficult, just long. Any ideas about the kids climbing it?

Also, and more importantly, it appears that you can not buy any tickets for Machu Picchu for kids or students at discounted prices from the website, only from a travel agent or upon arrival in Cuzco. Since Huayna Picchu often sells out, I would like to use a travel agent. The MP website lists the many agencies that are "certified" to sell tickets, but I'd like recommendations since I'm not comfortable giving my credit card info out to a random travel agency. I can buy 4 full price Huayna Picchu tickets online, but kids are eligible for a 50% discount, so I would like to take advantage of that if possible. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with my own travel agency. There are some large operators which are Peru based which could help you out. Otherwise, a travel agency owned by a reputable hotel should be a safe bet.

As far as climbing up Huayna Picchu with your kids, it can be safe assuming your kids will listen to their parents :-)

I'm not sure about booking the tickets for kids but HP is definitely safe for kids provided they follow the same safety precautions everyone else does. In fact, I usually notice that kids have an easier time since they're so full of energy!
