Hotel rates in Gdansk
I am about to book accomodation for four days in Gdansk in May. I visited Warsaw twice last year - a town with low hotel rates in my opinion. When I look at the Gdansk options, they seem more expensive. Is this correct? What would in case of yes, the reason be? Shortage of rooms pressing prices up? (Due to increasing numbers of tourists). Normally the capital has the highest rates/prices, but it doesn't always have to be so.Thanks for any response!

May is not yet the tourist season so I am surprised about that.. Check out tripadvisor or inyourpocket for hotels.Otherwise an excellent alternative is this:

Gdansk is a much more attractive city than Warsaw, so it gets more tourists, so hotels might be more expensive. I expect prices in Gdansk are more comparable with those in Krakow. If you are looking at prices in the first week of May, that is when half of Poland will be on holiday: May 1 and May 3 are state holidays.
