15If you want to visit mainly these two places you could do what I did 2 years ago: Fly to Chengdu. From there take the nighttrain to Xichang. In Xichang at the train station you have to take a taxi to go to the bus station. Do it quickly to make sure to reach the morning bus. At the bus station you can buy the ticket to Lugu Lake. I would recommend to go to Lige when at Lugu Lake. Again after your arrival you should join one of the small busses which go to Lige to share costs. From Lige you can leave by bus to Lijiang, which is a whole day due to bad and mountainous road conditions. Lijiang is worth 2 days if you haven't been there before. From there you can go to ShangriLa by bus in about 4 hours. Or you make a stop at Qiatou (or so) to do the TLG-Trekking. From Zhongdian you can continue to Daocheng (full day bustrip). From Daocheng you can go back to Yading (recommended!!!) to visit the National Park for at least 1 full day to go up to milk- and 5-colors-lake at about 4600 m. After Yading go back to Daocheng and continue the next day to Litang. Probably you don't have enough time to go further north to Ganzi, so from Litang you also can continue to Tagong and afterwards Danba or the quicker way via Kangding back to Chengdu (one full day to Kangding on the bus, another full day to Chengdu on the bus).

This is my tentative plan:(bus everywhere or train if available)
Fly into Lijiang, bus to Lugu lake, bus (if available)to Zhongdian-Xiangcheng-Litang-Ganzi-Manigango-Dege and from there back to Tagong-Kanding and finally Chengdu.Do you think this is feasible in 2 weeks??Tight huh??
Looking at the map,Yading nature reserve is not far from Lugu lake, maybe I can travel to the reserve from Lugu lake??
P.s do any of these places have airports?

17Lijiang to Lugu Lake is a bad idea if you also want to go to ShangriLa. I think they want to build a road, that links Lugu with ShangriLa, but I don't know the current status of this project. From Lugu you only can do a trekking to Yading (at least one week or more). There is no bus. 2 years ago a local, who didn't want to go back empty told me in my hostel in ShangriLa, that he could take me with his car to Yading direct from ShangriLa without going up to Daocheng first. Finally I took the bus, because I didn't want to risk anything. So maybe there are also small roads from Lugu to Yading, but I think, that's a little bit risky. I've never heard of anybody doing this.
If you want to do Zhongdian-Xiangcheng-Litang-Ganzi-Manigango-Dege and from there back to Tagong-Kanding and finally Chengdu it's already very tight for 2 weeks and Lugu also wouldn't fit. I wouldn't recommend it, because then you mainly stay on the bus.
Just an example (numbers are the 14 days you have):
1 arrival in Lijinag, Lijinag
3 bus to ShangriLa
5 bus to Daocheng (full day trip, need to stay in Daocheng for the night, since there is not much to do if you don't go to Yading continue next day to Litang)
6 bus to Litang (half day)
8 bus to Ganzi (full day trip)
10 bus to Baiyu (7 - 8 hours)
12 bus to Dege (if there is no bus, rent your own minibus for about 400 Yuan)
14 bus to Manigango, go to the Lake
15 bus to Ganzi
