WAITLIST (WL-129) in IRCTC, no problem for jumping in?
Namaste,in two weeks I will be flying to India for the great Kumbh Mela and then I have a reservation WL-129 for the train that will take me from Allahabad to Hydarebad.
I am in Sleeper-Class and, of course, I have no bed for now, :-))...anyway, although number 129 waiting, am I right if I think I will still be able to go on that train?

Hello all,I have this train reserved for February 12th, of course not Feb 10th, :-OO If I get for Feb 13th, I will be on number WAITLIST 98, which is a bit less...besides SL class, which one would you try next? I hate AC, by the way, but if there's no other chance...
Danbushell, I am flying into Kolkata, but I guess there I cannot book my train for Allahabad-Hyderabad on the Foreign Tourist Quota you mention, am I right?

Also, what about WAITLIST-21 in AC-2-Tier. I f I don't get in, then the waitlisted ones in this class get the chance to go in the same 'general car' as the ones in Sleeper class or in a different one?SL is about 400 Rs and AC-2-Tier is about 1900 Rs, quite a differnce and hence my question.

the Foreign Tourist Quota booking office in Calcutta is at Fairlie Place near BBD Bagh.you can do tourist quota bookings for all over the country if the train you wanting has a quota (only certain trains have Tourist Quota).
might be worth asking a specific query on lnk below and the 'experts' here will help you.

Thanks for the link, danbushell, as for now I have also booked for the AC-2-Tier, same train & date, and I am on WL-21, do you know if the 'general car' for the unreserved tickets is the same in SL-class than in AC-2-Tier-class?Of course, I will ask this also in IndiaMike but, if you know the answer, please let me know.

Iker, you do not mention which train have you booked your tickets on. Check www.erail.in and select the train. At the bottom of the page you will see the coach composition.The 2A is costlier than the sleeper class due the the facilities provided. There is no A/c in a sleeper class, they seat 72 passengers, during the day people without reservation also board the coaches. There is AC in 2A class, they seat 46 passengers, passengers are provided by blanket, bed sheets and pillows, people without reservation do not board the AC coaches and you have a attendant dedicated to each A/c coach.
I assume you have booked the tickets online. In that case if your ticket is wait listed after the chart is prepared, then it will cancelled automatically rendering you ticketless. You can not board a train without having a valid ticket. So if your WL-129 for sleeper class or WL-21 for 2A is not confirmed then you can not board the train.

Thanks a lot all. I didn't know that website www.erail.in, thank you.My WLs are slightly better now but stil WL-19 in AC-2-Tier. I will try to get Taktal ticket once in Allahabad, I will surely be there one week before my train departs, so I will try that.
If not, I have a confirmed seat on a train to Lucknow and then I would buy a plane ticket to Hyderabad in case necessary. We'll see, ;-))
