Withdrawing money from ATM now possible at KBZ ATMs

This was announced recently on the Air KBZ Facebook fan page. This is in conjunction with Visa so if you have an international Visa card, you can now use KBZ and CB bank ATMs in Myanmar to withdraw money. Not sure what the fees are, but they're sure not to be cheap so don't say goodbye just yet, to having crisp, new, mint condition US dollar notes.

True. I have seen KBZ ATMs in Mandalay with Visa stickers and an ATM of another bank (probably CB) in Bago with both Visa and Mastercard stickers. Did not have the guts to try them out though.

Yes I used an ATM of CB bank in Mandalay with a foreign bankcard back in november last year. Worked fine. When you draw 300.000 the fees for the local bank are a bit under 2 %. I think thats cheap.

The CB Bank has introduced a free app recently with adresses and maps of their ATM's and exchange rates + more. Look under CB Bank in the app store.

used my Visa at the CB Bank ATM in The Strand last week, worked like a charm except wouldn't let me take the advertised 3 lakh out, so I had to settle for 2.

There is apparently a 5000 kyat fee for using CB Bank, although I haven't tried it myself.

Visa works fine in the ATM's...have used the CB Bank ATM at Yangon Bogyoke markets (in the money change booth up the back right corner) and at Mandalay Diamond Plaza and both worked fine with Visa card (also another ATM for Visa at the CB bank on 78th St Mandalay)...withdrawals of 300,000 worked, and I was told that is the limit (???).... Diamond Plaza also have at least 1 KBZ ATM for Visa...fee (for CB ATM at least) is 5000 Kyat.

yup...that's correct (maybe you can withdraw more at one time...but I was told by a local friend the limit is 300,000)...and the fee is 5,000 Kyat (plus whatever fee/s you home bank charges you for using your card in a overseas ATM)
