2Hi! I'm planning on visiting Indonesia in June 2013, and Bali is on my agenda. I also have a (Canadian) friend who is living in Jakarta at the moment, with her (Indonesian) husband. It is somewhat tentative, but I am definitely flying out there to visit them this June. I'm not sure how long either of them would want to travel with me around Indonesia, but I'll definitely be solo at some points too. In fact that's why I've just signed up for this message board - is there a special 'solo' section around here do you know?

4Hi there! Nope theres no 'solo travelling section' here but you can browse other posts in this forum. Like leeross, he's looking for travelling buddy too. It's not easy to find though. If you're planning to visit Bali, we could work it out :)

I always have this feeling, compared to other destination that it is quite difficult to meet up with other travellers in Bali. Somehow there are always more families, couples and friends travelling together. But to meet up with people besides the common places such as bars and cafes you can also join a tour or course which allow you to meet up with people who happen to be travelling solo too.
Eitherway, if you do end up by yourself Bali is fine when travelling alone. There is enough to do by yourself and there is free wifi almost everywhere so you can keep in touch with your friends at home.
Have fun in Bali!

6For some reason I didn't really think of joining a tour as I usually try to kind of avoid those when traveling. I will definitely check one out! I also am a little hesitant to bring my cellphone/digital device crap because I feel they can kind of take away from the experience or whatever, plus I don't really want to worry about power conversion, theft, breakage etc, but if there's free wifi everywhere I could probably benefit from bringing something along I imagine..
I know I'm going to Indonesia, just not sure where in the country once I'm there. Queenxo should I send you my email address I guess? and if it just so happens to work out, we can meet up for a famous Indonesian coffee with my friends or something:) Wow, even just thinking about anywhere with sunshine is making me pretty happy right now!
Many thanks for the tips everyone. They are much appreciated.

11Hi I am also going to be in bali from the 16th june to 10th july (solo) . Was hoping to spend just over a week in Bali then head over to Lombok/the Gills but I am flexible with dates. Was also meant to be travelling with a friend who dropped out so am keep to meet up with other solo travellers!
Have just checked the weather forecast however and it looks fairly wet and stormy. Any suggestions to pass the time during these weather conditions or on which areas may escape it?

I'm travelling solo to Indonesia, beginning in Jakarta, then heading down to Yogya, then through to Bali. I'm flying to Jakarta Sunday 16th June. I'm there for a month and have no fixed dates within that time, so am really flexible!
I would love a travel buddy! A little nervous going on my own so having someone to travel with would be wonderful! I'm 23, female, and happy talking and travelling with anyone :)
