Travel from Prague to VeniceHi..we have two nights booked in Prague..we then need to be in Venice by the next night..can anyone advise the best method of transport from Prague to Venice? We were thinking of getting the train, but it seems a little expensive in comparison to flights..any advice would be appreciated...and yes this is the itinerary we need to stick to,we are not able to be flexible with our dates at this point in our trip..

2Wizzair flights from Prague to Venice Treviso only operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
If you fly to Bergamo, you'll have a 2.5-hour train ride from Milan to Venice. If you choose to fly to MIlan, both easyJet and Air One offer cheap tickets to Malpensa.
Your best bus/train route would be to go Prague-Nuernberg-Munich, departing at 17:38 and arriving at 22:47. The first leg is on an express bus. The second leg is on a train. If you book well in advance (up to 92 days allowed) on the German Rail site, you can get a discount fare as low as €29.00.
Take the direct CNL night train from Munich to Venice, departing at 23:40 and arriving at 08:34. Again, book on the German Rail site up to 92 days in advance.

5Train really can seem more expensive on such distances than low-cost flights, but only if you are looking to full railway fares and comparing them with discounted (non-refundable tickets, purchased in advance) filght prices.
But when you buy train in advance - different disconted tickets are often available to trains too, the only issue for beginner - there is no such discount directly for full route Praha - Venezia. But in this case and in many other cases - you can combine the route you need from the sections with discounts.
For example there are good deals for overnight train Wien - Venezia (29 EUR seating place, couchettes from 49 EUR, such tickets are available via website oebb.at, but better to hunt for it at last in 1 month, better - in 2-3 month before departuer, because number of places in such price is VERY limited and they are quickly sold-out, the rest of places are much pricier)
You can catch this train from Prague not only in Wien (more obvious option, if you buy ticket in advance - it will cost 489 Kč (about 19 EUR), it's not hard to catch such tickets as for Wien - Venezia, usually they are available even in some days before departure, but note, full fare much pricier), but also in Linz (less obvious option, ticket Praha - Linz (via Ceske Budejovice) can be purchased for 489 Kč and AFAIK number of seats for such price is not limited, but unfortunately - no good connection in Linz, you must wait at last 2 hours in Linz)
