Yoga in India

Hey Everyone
I'm currently planning a 4 month trip to India for the main purpose of yoga. Would you recommend the north or the south for physical yoga like ashtanga. What particular places/schools would you recommend?
Thanks a lot everyone! Any advice would be appreciated :)

You could also consider Mysore or Chennai or Pune. There are many blogs that will help you identify the right school for you. BKS Iyengar's school in Pune, The Krishnamachari School in Chennai and Pattabhi Jois's school in Mysore.

When are you going?

For Ashtanga, head to Mysore. Pattabhi Jois is closed from March. Many Shala's with excellent teachers in Lakshimpuram (Mysore)

Take a look here - http://goindia.about.com/od/yogawellbeing/a/mysore-yoga.htm

I spent 2 months here recently and can highly recommend - http://ashtanga.org

PM me if you want more details and info.
