When? These most likely are stocked for Fall Winter collections which are in the stores from August to Jan, then they go on sale, and Spring Summer ships in Feb/March. NYC would be your best bet, as it is the fashion capital on many levels from major department stores, small boutiques and designer stores, not to mention a huge vintage market where you could buy the real deal from the era.

I would start with Macy's and Bloomingdales, they huge stores with many many labels. Then I would consider Ralph Lauren, Belvest, and the stores on the LES area like GStar, Double RL, Varvatos, Barneys, Zegna, etc. If you arrive after the sale and nothing is left for winter, then head to the big outlet mall in Woodbury, you can take the train or hotels can hook you up with the shoppers shuttles.

You may also find it online at websites like Guiltgroupe, Trunk Club, Net E Porter.

You dont mention price, but a shearling aviator jacket from a designer would be at least $2000, and that might not even be made in Italy, that would be $3000 up. A nice calf skin leather bomber would be at least $600 or more IMO, I am in the mens fashion business...

Examples, Google, "Leather Bomber Jacket" and shop via Google Image, you will see it really varies, by quality, I would be very leary of anything under $300, Orvis used to make a great one, as did Andrew Marc.

SoloHobo -- you missed the recent posting a few weeks ago listing popular fashionable stores in NYC. No one mentioned the shopper shuttles!
