Belize to Utila

Hi Everyone,

Really just looking for general advice. I will fly into Belize City on the 25th of march, I would like to spend a few days there (I was thinking Cay Caulker) before travelling on to Utila. I need to be there by the beginning of April so what do you reckon is the best way for a solo traveller?

I would really appreciate any advice and if anyone has done this route :)

Thank you all!

There's no cheap and easy way to transition from Belize to Utila, though it looks close on a map. Basically you're in for flights or a combination of road and boat and the schedules can be a bit complicated; it will take several days if you don't fly.

Here's a Trip Advisor thread with lots of input. Good luck!

Here's a good transportation website for Belize.

I don't know your defintion of "best". Do you really mean fastest or cheapest?

The two common routes from Belize to Honduras are:
1. Tropic Air flight to San Pedro Sula -- fast but expensive
2. Water taxi (ferry/boat) from Belize City (or Placencia) to Puerto Cortes, Honduras.
The BelizeBus site has more details and links.

Here are two sites might have details about getting to Utila...

I posted this on your other post, but since this is a duplicate post, one of them will probably be removed
