ferries and timing

I'm looking at tickets to Nassau, meeting family in Marsh Harbor on a Wednesday, Oct 2013

I'm wondering how much to plan for the public transportation trip for two of us from Nassau to Marsh Harbor. I realize that today's rates for ferry and taxi may not be October's rates...but I'm looking to get an idea. Also, I can't really tell what day of the week the ferry goes from Nassau to Sandy Point...as I try to get there to meet fam on Tues or Wed.

If you have any insight, please let me know.

cheers!

I'm pretty sure your best option is going to be to fly. Round trip air from Nassau to Marsh Harbour is about $160 and the MH airport is close to town and an inexpensive taxi fare.

By ferry, the current round trip fare is $116 (see fare list here , but Sandy Point is a very long distance from Marsh Harbour ... About 50 miles one way. Although I have never taken the taxi from SP to MH, it is my understanding that the fare is well over $100. This website says the fare is about $150: http://www.visithopetown.com/nassau.html In addition, the ferry only runs Fridays and Sundays, or at least those were the days in October 2012. Here is the schedule! . Taxi from the Nassau airport to the ferry dock is about $30 - $35.
