March Itinerary questions--specific
Husband, self and teen daughter spending 11 days in Honduras in March. Starting with 2 nights in Copan, then TWO UNDECIDED NIGHTS, then 3 nights Pico Bonito, then wrapping up 4 nights diving in Roatan. Looking for specific advice:1. Private transfer from SPS to Copan, because we won't get into SPS in time to make the only good bus.
2. What to do with the two undecided nights? Another destination? Or add a day each to Copan and Pico Bonito.
3. Best way to get from Copan to Pico Bonito (if we go there directly)?
In general, we are much more interested in beautiful outdoors and nature and village culture.
Thanks for any specific suggestions.

I would DEFINITELY add the extra nights to Copán. That would just give you 3 days there and they'd be easy to fill - I've spent more than a month total there split between 2 trips and am plotting a return. In addition to the Maya site there are 3 wonderful museums, cool hot springs, cave hikes, coffee farms, and an exotic bird park with miles of hiking trails. There are some fascinating villages in the area, too, including La Pintada (accessible by horseback or on the hiking trails of the lovely Hacienda San Lucas; head to the Los Sapos stones and keep going) and Sesesmil. Less than 4 nights (3 days) would be a shame imo unless you decide on 3 and spend an extra on Roatán (remember to leave plenty of time after your last dive before an international flight!).My photos with blog and travelogue links on the main page of each collection are below in case you're interested - all my recommendations are embedded there. Happy trails!

Thanks, everyone.Have decided to stick around Copan for the extra two days, and have also secured private transfer between Copan Ruinas and Pico Bonito.
Now seeking suggestions on one good stop along the way . . . a nice little market? A great restaurant (veg friendly)? Something unexpected?
Thanks.
