Trujillo, La Libertad Peru - General Information

hey people!

Im thinking of heading over to Trujillo, La Libertad in July to work for fairmail a non for profit that teaches children photography and then sells their photos around the world to create income for the community.

Im having trouble finding any info about the actual town though, has anyone been here?

I would be looking at spending 4-6months here and want to know how much a long term rental would cost in a simple flat.

What is the town like? Would it be easy to spend a few months here and call it home?

I like to surf, and I hear there is plenty of good surf near by.

I am also trying to convince my girlfriend to come with me, she would like to study Yoga, does anyone know of any Yoga schools in the area, even if 30km away or something.

Thanks,

Luke

Hi Luke

I was there 2 years ago, as a traveller not as a temp resident. I socialised with locals via a website called couchsurfing. From my few days there, yes it is a good option to for Peru to spend some time there. You will easily make friends. Trujillo is a pretty town and the beach is close enough to waste some time on a hot day. There are some tourists but it is not over run with them.

In regards to Yoga, I highly doubt there is any Yoga school near Trujillo.
