I think you're fine. You'll be out of the airport by 2:30, downtown by 3:30, and then it takes 3-4 hours so you'll be arriving in Nakuru at dusk 7-7:30. You can take the mini-vans "matatus" as others have suggested, or you can hire a car and driver, so you can ride by yourself for about 5-6,000 KSH per day. I would advise taking the private car cause you'll get there quicker as you'll have to make less stops and it will be safer than the mini-van.
