Entry for Russians

Hi,

The two of us are planning to purchase Air France bonus tickets (or of another SkyTeam airline) from Moscow, Russia to Rio and back from Buenos Aires to Moscow. Russians are exempted from Brazil's entry visas but we must have return/onward tickets which we would not supposed to have for the above open-jaw tickets - MOW>RIO and BUE>MOW as we are planning to exit Brazil and enter Argentina on land near Iguaçu waterfalls.

My biggest concerns is not the Brazilian passport control but flight registration in Moscow as Timatic says - Visitors not holding return/onward ticket could be refused. So there is always a possibility that Air France will not register us on the flight basing on formal requirements no matter that thousands already travelled without tickets.

I have found so far such possible solutions:

What else can be found? What shall we do to do our planned trip crossing on land the border between Brazil and Argentina? Any ideas? Mayby someoner has in mind a travel plan suitable for us aw well?

Much simpler and free solution: print fake itinerary if they bother you and I don't think they will, people have problems with one-way tickets, open-jaw basically assures them you're going back home.
But just to have a peace of mind create fake itinerary of big sites like expedia, orbitz etc (edit old one if you have it) and it's all good.

ur BA to Moscow is enough as onward ticket.

Tell the bored airline check in counters agents that your taking BUS from Sao Paulo to Iguazu then Iguazu to Buenos Aires which cannot be booked in advance. Technically, BA to Moscow is enough .You will be fine.

You haven't mentioned how you will travel from Rio to Foz do Iguaçu.

If you're planning to buy a plane ticket, you can buy a ticket Rio-Iguazu (Argentinian side), with Aerolineas Argentinas (3 direct flights/week). This will serve as a proof of exit.

When you arrive in Iguazu (Argentina), you can re-enter Brazil, visit the falls on the Brazilian side, and return to Argentina by land.
