Traveling around & from Copenhagen
We are a family of 5 - 2 adults & 3 teenage children who are hoping to be in the area of Copenhagen for a week to 10 days. This area of the world is completely new to us. We plan to fly in to Copenhagen & would like to fly out of somewhere else maybe Sweden & explore as much in between. We were thinking of renting an apartment if possible for part of the week and another apartment for part of a week somewhere else.Is this even possible for feasible & if so would anyone have recommendations on a plan for us? Any and all ideas are welcome.
Thank-You!

Travelling in and around Copenhagen is really, really easy - but the prices can be a bit of a chock... More info here: Link Name You will need a few days of 3 - at least - to take in the most see sights...Travelling to/in Sweden use Link Name - the Swedish train service... The Swedish capital of Stockholm is a 5 hour train ride away... Other international Airports are found in Göteborg (second biggest int. airport in Sweden) and Malmö right next to Copenhagen...
Around Copenhagen are certain highlight: Elsinore (Helsingør) with the castle Shakespeare used for his setting of Hamlet, Roskilde the former Viking Capital of Denmark, and Odense, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen can all be reached on day trips...
If the fire hour train ride to Stockholm are to far Göteborg is 4 hours from Copenhagen... From Göteborg it's another 3 hours to Stockholm if you thing you have time for both...
Another good Swedish stop between Copenhagen and Stockholm (even though it's a detour) is Kalmar...
Have fun in Scandinavia..

Now you mention specifically Copenhagen and Ask the 2-3 biggest towns in Sweden.Make sure you realize that there is so much more OUTSIDE the capitals in Scandinavia. (as in all other countries?). 2-3 daytours in Denmark (Helsingør Roskilde Hillerød) will alow visits to some towns (but you are still in Greather Copenhagen) - the nature/coutryside still missed. As well as gems like Ribe. Maybe not THAT bad, but for Sweden that main attraction in addition to Stockholm is reallly the nature - and one of the best things about Stockholm is Skärgården (the Archipelago) where even a long, full day trip wil only allow a simple "look out from the boat"-visit.

During the summer? If you are staying in the city of Copenhagen I recommend looking for accommodation within walking distance of Amager Strandpark (the city beach). It has metro connection directly to the city (10 min). Your teenagers are going to love you for it. A morning or evening dip can be combined with sight-seeing plans and a noon break on the sand is entirely possible. Some hotels have bicycles which is also a great way to reach the beach and move around the city
