Easyjet to start cheap flights to moscow

Incredibly good prices aren't they? In some cases the return fare is around the same price as a visa!UK to Moscow return for under £250. Who would have thought?

I think the flight time is around 3.5 - 4 hours. Good luck with the visa, there are often complications and delays getting one in the UK. Easyjet's coffee might be expensive, but then again you could get a £500 flight with Aeroflot or BA and get a 'Free' one! Don't know if you're aware, Air Baltic flies Gatwick to Moscow with a change in Riga and on selected dates is quite a bit cheaper than Easyjet's fares.5
And to think only a few weeks ago a member of this forum claimed that Easyjet had no plans to introduce this service. I have to say though I still remain skeptical to Easyjets venture into the Russian territory, I know what Russian expect from an airline so Easyjet will come as quite a shock to many of them and may prove very unpopular with many.....only time will tell I guess.I just picked some random dates in April for flights from London to Moscow flying directly, Easyjet came cheapest at £214, Aeroflot was only £248 not the £500 being claimed here and of course with Aeroflot you'll be fed and watered as part of your ticket and not have pay for putting luggage in the hold of the plane.
I would pay any attention to the claim that "there are often complications and delays getting one in the UK" with regards to getting a visa, if you're a UK passport holder or resident you'll have no problem. The Russia visa process can for those new to this look a little complicated, but honestly it's a piece of cake. If you need any advice on how to go about applying for one just ask. The one piece of advice I'd give though, don't apply for a visa for your exact travel dates, give yourself a few days extra to leave the country. If for some reason your Easyjet flight has problems and you are delayed from leaving Russia you may have problems because you MUST have a valid visa to leave Russia.

Easyjet has only just been given consent over the last 7 days to run the route. It has flights from Gatwick to Moscow in April from £83, not £214 as claimed.

No it didn't. It announced that the route had been proposed from MAN-DME but was waiting approval from LGW-DME.

I welcome Easyjet's entry into the UK-Russia flight market place. Can only be good for passengers in the long term .Gatwick is easier for me and many others i suspect. We now have alternative departure/arrival times and who needs to pay 30-40 pounds extra to be fed and watered on a 4 hour flight? For tourists visiting Moscow for a few days with a small back pack, no need to check in luggage anyway.

The way you got the Easyjet cheapest fares so wrong shows you really haven't worked through the facts at all.If you read what Easyjet stated (as correctly posted by me awhile back), the LGW-DME was proposed, not approved, whereas MAN-DME had already got the green light.
Before you're so quick to make accusations, try learning how to properly read and understand about new routes.

If what you say is true you'll have no problem providing evidence backing up your claims, but of course this is never going to happen because as reported in the Daily Mail article way back in October the CAA granted the "green light" back then.Actually I'm out far too much these days....job related thing mostly, meaning I seldom have little time to correct the misinformation you keep giving.
