Visas for the Silk Road
It seems that a lot of the previous threads that may have answered this have been deleted since the closure and reopening of Thorn Tree so apologies if these issues have been answered before - I jsut can't find anything on it now.basically I am planning to travel the Silk Road from April to August and am in the process of organising visas. I have decided to try and get Azerbaijan, Turkmenistand and Uzbekistan before I leave as these all seem a little bit more complicated than some of the others. The TK one seems to take about 6 dayd with an LOI while AZ and UZ are meant to take 10 working days to come through.
The only problem is I am away for most of March so cannot sned my passport off, which only leaves me about 10 days before I leave to try and sort them. Does anyone know if these countries do same day visas if you go into the London embassies? I'm sure I read this was possible for Uzbekistan at least, but now can't find anythign saying this. Any helpw ould be much appreciated!!

Thanks for the link!In case this helps any one else - the Uzbek embassy have confirmed we can apply for a visa with scanned copy of passport and then just go to embassy in person to collect it with real passport, which will take a few hours.
Azerbaijan have confirmed that it is not possible to get a same-day service, although with both a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, plus paying the extra £60 for express service, you can get it in three days. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!
We are thinking we can sort Turkmenistan out in Armenia hopefully.
