Good reasonably priced restaurant near the train station bologna

Coming into Bologna late-ish tomorrow and need a decent/reasonably priced place to get some good local food (pizza/pasta) close enough to train station before a trip to Venice and an all night wait at the airport before our early morning flight. Any recommendations met with smiles and appreciation! cheers!

Can't help with specific restaurant but Pizza is certainly always reasonably priced in Italy, my rule of thumb is go to a place where the menu is either only in Italian or Italian/English. Also look out forno al legno (wood oven).

I would argue that pizza is NOT a local food in Bologna. Wouldn't you say so, Richiavo? Bologna is famous for its local cuisine but pizza is not part of that- see this recent BBC article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20970092

ON my last visit to Bologna i remember several restaurants on Via dell'Indipendenza- which starts right outside the railway station and goes straight to the old center. Shouldn't be too hard to find something there.

I would agree with you that it is not a local food although I doubt you would have a problem getting a good pizza. Obviuosly stuffed pasta's and ragu's are a Bologna speciality, and has become one of the gourmet capitals.
