overnight Bus from BKK to ChangmaiHi anyone please help I arrive BKK at 7.15pm and want to catch an overnight bus to Changmai ASAP someone suggested there was a 9:30pm bus direct from bus station at airport costs around 500baht.
if not then does one leave in time from Eckmai (taxI?) or Morchit ie after connection bus from airport to Morchit

2Thanks John for your input, but No thanks Ha! Ha! takes too long and by the time I get from airport to station I will most probably miss it anyway, just figured if I can walk off the flight straight to bus station at airport and onto changmai for around 5am as need to get straight onto 2 days trek mai rim mae teng area, when I arrive, after breakfast at around 8am when they pick you up from GH etc etc thanks for your thoughts anyway, but still need to know about buses departing airport for Cnahgmai around 8-930pm please

I agree that it's a lovely way to go to Chiang Mai and in fact the only way i will ever go to Chiang Mai ..
All though the last Train leaves Bangkok at 22:00 and there are a few Trains in between the OP's arrival and that of the departure of the last Train...
But sadly quite a lot of those sleeper Trains have a tendency to be booked out solid especially during holidays ..
Bit of a risk if you ask me , unless the OP is willing to spend a night in Bangkok !
It would be a gamble that i would be willing to take , but there again i don't normally have any time constraints that the OP may have ..

5Hi ribblerat nice to see you here, the problem also is the time of arrival in Changmai next day if I arrive 19.30 say 1/2 hr to exit immigration etc then get to railway station it will miost probably be the 2200 hrs train arriving too late to head out for trek at 8am next morning. wheeras if there is a bus direct to Changmai direct from airport say at 2100 saves me battling to get to Mochit and morchit North Eastern terminus for a late bus to Changmai, which to me is the only possible alternative
